ทำอะไร, คุณเป็นใคร

Didn’t even realise I’ve been here a week till Mum went “It’s your anniversary!”. Time has passed in a blur of settling down, trying to figure out what to do, how and where to do it, how to express myself in order to be understood. Things that are usually done without a second thought now become completely different here. Even felt grateful for the presence of a McNonner because it was at least, something familiar.

And living alone in a foreign country? Not what I expected. Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s the fact that family and friends mean so much more to me now but…. I am a lot less okay with being alone than I was in the past. Of course, I’m enjoying the experience but am missing loved ones more than I expected.

Come what may… this experience will definitely be one memorable one. Aja aja, hwaiting!! Su su!

365 Days of Color: Old Time Movie

It’s official. I’ve fallen in love with ALL polishes from 365 Days of Color. On my fingers today, Old Time Movie – a clear base with black and silver glitter shards. In all honesty, expected the least from this one as prefer the pink/purple/oooh so pretty type polishes but was very pleasantly proven wrong! This is 1 coat Old Time Movie over 2 coats of The Face Shop’s PK101. Did not have to dig, glitter came out easily. Love how the colour pops in contrast to the black and silver 🙂

Had to try to get a closer shot of the polish in all its glory, but as usual, these polishes look way better in real life. Also, there are limitations to how good photos can be when you’re taking them with just an iPhone 😛

Am already thinking of all the possible base colours to use Old Time Movie with, so can foresee it being on my tips alot! ♥

Summer Dream

Tried my second polish from 365 Days of Color – Summer Dream, a greenish/blue (described as pistachio green) base with TONS of glitter. Polish was easy to work with and was opaque after 2 coats but I just had too much fun seeing what type of glitter would come out with each brush stroke. This baby is choc full of glorious glitter! From bars to hexagons, squares and micros! Glitter initially reminded me of confetti (which is a story for another time) but after my fourth fun, but totally unnecessary coat, I realised…. it reminded me of this scene from Up!

How awesome is that?? Summer Dream totally reminds me of colourful balloons floating in the summer sky. And to have that on your fingers? Joy.

You are confined only by the walls you build yourself

“Tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back toward the milky way?”

Yesterday’s heartbreak, today’s source of laughter

With you, I did that too well.

“And you fall out of my head
Out of my heart
And when you hit the ground
You’ll be sorry that I’m not around
I’ll be watching while you fall”

No one can feel as helpless as the owner of a sick goldfish

So. Never thought I’d be blogging from a hospital AS A PATIENT. Not nice. Some points to self, after this experience.

1. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. If there are no beds in a lower class and they upgrade you, stay the hell there! DO NOT be itchy and listen to the (albeit well-meaning) brother about super bugs and air condition in hospitals. Also, do not try to be a hero and cut costs by asking to be transferred to C class. Regret does not even begin to express it.

2. Sunshine really can be found in the grimmest of places. In the midst of all the depressing going-ons, my bed neighbour was a really nice, friendly old lady. Had a nice time talking to her and when it was finally time to be transferred out of C and back to the promise land of B, I actually felt sad.

3. God sometimes blesses us with things we don’t at all deserve. I’ve gotta admit that I’ve spent a miniscule amount of time with my relatives. My cousins (and small aunt) however, sent flowers and kept me entertained when I had enough energy, through whatsapp. The king wren as well, showed a great amount of concern. Friends too, sacrificed their hours after work to travel down to CGH for a visit. For all of that, I’m grateful, touched and greatly blessed.

Here’s hoping the doctors find out the cause of this fever. If this turns out to be another mystery of the human body then, here’s to good health for a.very.long.time. Lastly, I MISS MY DOG.

Twin-ship

Been wanting to blog about this for the longest time but just mustered up enough time/energy to do so today 😛

So anyways, this is a screenshot of a convo between Twin and I:

*As usual, typo by Twin, she meant that I’m never earlier than her.

You know you’ve found your soulmate when both of you are able to swear at each other in every vulgarity known to man and neither of you finds it offensive 🙂

Want….

What started off as a want is now encroaching into the “need” category.
